The Museum of Art, Seoul National University & Gana Art Gallery - Seoul Square present "Always on My Mind: home |hōm|," an Australia - Korea Art Project that celebrates 50 years of diplomatic relations between Australia and the Republic of Korea, from November 04 through December 12, 2011. This project investigates the multiple notions of home in the context of today’s deterritorialisation of culture and identity through the work of two groups of artists, each coming from the other side of the globe.
What is on my mind?
Presently, I’m searching for my perfect family home.
Through the journey in the search for my perfect family home, it made me realise that the search has a revolved through a 360o cycle. We start our lives in a big family home with our parents and siblings, reach into adulthood, move out of home, and get married and settle into married life in a cosy place for two. We then start a family and need more room for a growing young family and time to move into a bigger place. Our children eventually grew up, left home to start their own family. The room and space we once required is no longer needed. Our priority changes as we progress through each stage of life.
